Shantiniketan - Labhpur - Kirnahar

We have visited Shantiniketan a number of times,  so decided to extend the tour further this time and visited Labhpur, Maa Fullara Temple . The temple is about 30 Kms from Shantiniketan and around 18 Kms from Kankalitala via Bolpur-Labhpur Road .  The Temple ... this is another Satipeeth .. the Lower lip of Sati fell at this place ....   The pond beside the Temple ... According to hearsay, Hanuman collected 108 blue lotuses from the pond when Sri Ramachandra required them for the worship of goddess Durga Hanuman Murti with the Fullara Temple at the Backdrop We also visited the Birth place of Famous Bengali Novelist Sri Tarashankar Bandhyopadhyay at Labhpur. After having "Bhog" at the temple, we visited Japeswar Temple at Kirnahar. It is around 12 Km from Labhpur. Japeswar Temple at Kirnahar - Near Honourable President Mr. Pranab Mukhrjee's Native village.

Short Trip at Deoghar and Tapovan

Last weekend (27-Apr-13) had a short trip to Deoghar mainly to have the "Darshan" of  "Baidyanath". We reached Jashidi station at around 1 PM and from there an auto rickshaw  to the Hotel Mahadev Palace in Deoghar in 20 minuets. In the evening we booked an auto rickshaw to first visit the Kundeswari Temple and then Baidyanath Temple. Having "Darshan" in the evening is more peaceful than in the morning. Though next early morning at around 5.45 AM, we visited the Temple again but the situation and the crowed there advised me not take Wife and Daughter inside. So went inside alone and soon realized to what extent my decision was correct. By 6.30 AM, we headed for a very sacred place named TAPOVAN just 10 KM away from Deoghar. The weather in early morning was really pleasant and the place was just fantastic with some breathtaking views. A number of caves are found in this hill. It was a meditation place for Rishis and Munis for a long time. It is said that Sa

Mandarmoni

Wanted to have a short break from the hustle and bustle of the daily routine and on 28th Mar'13 visited Mandarmoni for a couple of nights with family. We stayed at Aqua Marina and found it really good and peaceful place for families to stay . There is nothing to do except relaxing watching the sea day and night. Early morning visit to the Mohonas (both right and left) was very refreshing.  The place is getting crowded every day but the unfortunate part is the indiscipline of some section doing everything that is severely damaging the environment there. Administration alone can not control it until and unless we make ourselves self-conscious for our own environment.
